Name:
Scott L Ritchie
Kart Number: 666
Age:
44
Why and when
did you start racing go-karts? Having
been involved in Stock Car racing for a number of years,
while living in Austin TX, the opening of the new $140
million Miller Motorsports Park in Utah rekindled my need
for speed. Due to the fact that I am on a fixed disability
income... Karting was the best option to quench the fire
that still burns strong within. I just completed my "Rookie"
season with a top 15 in points in the Rotax Masters class.
With 7 top 10's and 4 top 5's our season went as expected.
What type of kart
do you race? Tony Kart Rotax
Max FR 125
Why did you choose
the class and chassis you are racing? From
past experience I know how fast the "racing budget" can
get tossed right out of the trailer during a season. The
Rotax Spec class seemed to offer a reasonable level of
performance and maintenance schedule.
What advise would
you give someone wanting to start racing? Take
a class or six and then seat time, seat time, and more
seat time!
What are your
other hobbies? Writing,
Research, World History, & Public Speaking .
what is your favorite
saying? If you don't believe
that you can win... you won't!
What would you like
people to know about you? I
am a proud Lifetime Member of Disabled American Veterans
due to injuries sustained while a member of the United
States Air Force. I am proud of my service to this nation
which has provided so many of us the opportunities to
pursue our dreams.
